Day Four - Buses, Bone Chilling Cold, Canucksssss

Whistler Village - while waiting for the Vancouver bus
An early start saw us up and out the door at 9.20am and up to the village to walk around and grab a coffee, have a look for some new boots for me, and to just generally kill time before boarding a bus and heading down to Vancouver. A journey that normally takes 2 hours by bus took 1.5 hours so our bus driver must have been particularly hauling ass. We arrived down in Vancouver at around 2.30pm and checked into our gorgeous hotel 'Century Plaza' which will be our home for the next 8 days. This place is all about the location I tell you - it's literally 2 blocks walking distance to Robson Street and all it's shopping amazingness, there is a Starbucks and IGA close by - and one of the best features for me - Scully's street (AKA Pendrell Street) can be seen from our Suite window. No joke. I did a happy nerdy excited dance when I saw exactly where it was. If you have a look at the photo - it is the street with the little line of cars and houses - that's Scully's street. I am headed
Inside Rogers Arena - Awaiting the 'Vancouver Canucks'
down there on Thursday. Next we went out and bought me some new winter boots, because my Sorel boots were literally like walking around with 2kg weights on my feet. I now have some gorgeous sketchers. :) We then went back to our hotel and then headed to 'Rogers Arena' to get ready for our first Hockey experience. Arriving far too early, we walked down and had a 'Fatburger' which was really tasty. Heading back to the arena, we met the lovely James who sold us our tickets. I am telling you - this was the deal of the century - and we owe Leigh heaps for finding us this listing on Craigslist... :) For those who have never been to a hockey game - GO! It is extraordinary! The passion the Canadians have for their hockey, it is so amazing. The game was amazing - so many fights, Luongo copped a puck to the face (holy ouch!) and then Schneider came out and took over the goal tending. He is *amazing*. Canucks won against the Colorado Avalanches 6-0. What a game! We then walked back to our hotel in the rain and the mud and the rain - watched a little tv and went to bed. Yes, we are old, we didn't go out partying as we think jetlag is still lurking around a little bit.
