Day Six - Kitsilano (Cool) and Granville Island

An early start saw us up at 7.30am, making our own breakfast in the hotel to try and save a few bucks - Canadian Bacon and Eggs... Mmmmmmmmmmm. Jetlag is still messing with us a little bit, so our 9am start turned into a 10am start. We wanted to get the bus down to Kitsilano (to grab an external hard drive for our videos and photos) and completely failed. We haven't had any luck reading the bus timetable, and feel completely hopeless - so Vancouver (locals) friends - feel free to educate us. :-)  We caught taxis each way to and from Kitsilano. I really like it down there. So many cool clothing stores and other interesting things to check out on that side of town. Really want to get back there. We then went back downtown and met the Moynihans and caught a ferry across to Granville Island. Strolled around the Public Markets that were full of fresh produce (and looked completely amazing) and other stores had Canadian Aboriginal Artifacts and other souveniers. In between our browsing, we stopped at the Granville Island Brewing Co for a beer,  and went across to another building and had another serving of 'Poutine' which is becoming a fast favourite of mine. :-) Somewhere between the ferry and Burrard Bridge, I managed to lose my mittens. Not happy, but hopefully a homeless person picked them up and is putting them to good use... I guess I am going to have to go out in the morning and buy some new mittens. Got a few cold days ahead, including possible predicted snow on Saturday. Jetlag is still hitting us pretty hard, giving us dizzy spells and making us feel sick at times... landing us in bed by 8am which is really sad. I've mapped out about 10 X-Files locations that I really want to try and hit in the next couple of days - the ones I really want to visit are just too far out of the city - and without a car, makes visiting them next to impossible unfortunately. Will definitely make the best of what we have though. :-)
