Day One - Long flights and Winter Amazingness

Arrival in Vancouver, after a quick outfit change
Finally. FINALLY. The day we have been waiting for finally arrived. We left Australia after a quick flight from Brisbane to Sydney - and then a LONG (otherwise known as 14.45 hours of straight turbulance) Sydney to Vancouver. Cannot fault Air Canada's direct service from Sydney to Vancouver. It was flawless. Although, as I had been warned, when you get to the 11 hour point of the flight - you want nothing more than to get out of the plane: and you can't.

The moment the captain came over the loud speaker and said "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Vancouver" - we were pretty damned excited. We breezed through customs, collected our bags, changed our clothes, and then boarded our three hour bus ride to Whistler. Driving through Vancouver, seeing a few key X-Files  sites along the way (the fountain from Duane Barry amongst other things) ;-)  Arriving up into Whistler was memorable, simply because it is like coming home. Having visited the gorgeous snow town twice previously, it was like no time had passed.

Arriving in Whistler, walking the short distance to Cory's work and surprising her - was so awesome. :-) We then went in search of Canadian Sim Cards - and food (yeah, McDonalds - Don't Judge). Went to the Amsterdam Pub for a quick beverage before heading back to Leigh and Cory's place to unwind after a very long journey. Really looking forward to getting out and exploring Whistler again tomorrow.
